2. Learning/teaching/training activities description

The meeting in Croatia took place in Varaždin from 1 – 5 May 2017. It was the first meeting for the students where they presented their companies and activities done from the beginning of the project. The first day of the meeting was held on local family farming place “OPG Martinčević” to learn about heritage, locally produced food and sustainable approach to run agriculture and tourism. Students participated on team building activities to get to know each other and to learn about the individual skills necessary to be a part of successful team. The rest of the meeting was organized at Electromechanical school in Varaždin. Students made one-page business plans, made SWOT analysis of their business and planned how to present their companies in front of potential investors. This was organized as a role-play: the students presented the strengths of their companies and explained why someone should invest in their startup firm, and a group of teachers had acted like investors (listened to presentations, asked questions and gave comments about the presentation).

For all the activities students got materials and checklists to help them prepare, and after the activities were done, the participants gave comments and analyzed the results of the activities as part of the evaluation. Croatian students presented renewable energy sources because their companies ideas were based on using solar energy and they showed the production process for making the solar tree.

The participants visited Croatian team mentor companies Ducati and Solvis. This was example of two successful companies from the local area doing business based on ecological ideas. Students had opportunity to hear their stories about demanding work, planning and success. At the end of the meeting participants made plans for the next project meeting in Greece and talked about the ability to do trade between the training companies.
